Our Services for Candidates

Marking

From our experience, and the experience of many candidates, we believe there is significant value in having someone other than yourself mark your practice simulations. The only way to truly determine if your written response was adequate to get your point across (and that you didn't just have it in your head!) is to have someone else read and evaluate your simulation. Who better to do this than a marker who has experience working with UFE candidates and knows first-hand how your response stacks up against others? The marker also provides you with both simulation specific feedback, general case writing comments and suggestions for improvement.

Mentoring

When you sign up for our marking service, you will also have access to an experienced mentor who you can e-mail with your general questions about the CA process. For example, your mentor will review your study plan via email and provide suggestions at no extra cost.

One-on-One Coaching

This service is designed to address your specific needs above and beyond the one-off email question, and is structured to address your areas for improvement. For example, your coach could review a recently-submitted simulation in person or over the telephone / video call and go over specific questions you have in more detail. Alternatively, your coach would have a thorough discussion with you regarding your strengths and trends based on your simulation writing. This would give you a new sense of direction and insight which you can utilize when finalizing your study plan or considering your study habits. Your coach can assist in dealing with stress management, as well as turning the examination process into a positive experience.

If you require one-on-one in-person (or telephone) coaching, please mention this when you initially contact us and we will be glad to assign you to a coach as well. Not all of our mentors are available for one-on-one coaching so contact us early if you wish to take advantage of this service.

Our Services for Firms

This service is tailored to small and mid-size accounting firms that would like to provide their CA candidates with additional support during the exam preparation process. exaMENTOR provides small-size group training and coaching, as well as individual marking as part of our comprehensive commitment to your firm’s candidates. This is perfect for firms that may not have CAs in the office that have qualified recently, as well as firms that are looking for some extra help to get their candidates on their way! You can request as much or as little assistance as you like, depending on your budget and needs.

Our Fees

For the 2012 season, our rates are:

  • $45 per multi-competency simulation
  • $90 per comprehensive simulation
  • $90 per hour of one-on-one coaching sessions
  • $200 per PAR review

We also offer two pre-pay only "early bird" packages as detailed below. These packages are only available if paid for between January 1st and May 31st, and any services over and above the package will be invoiced at our regular rates according to the schedule above. Only one package per candidate is allowed, and all packages are non-refundable.

Competence Builder Package

This package includes professional marking of seven multi-competency simulations and two comprehensive simulations. It also includes 1.5 hours of one-on-one coaching session(s) (which includes but not limited to a discussion regarding technical studying, debriefing, study plan and study partner) and monthly performance tracking, where your coach will track your performance on the papers you’ve submitted to us and check in with you to assess your performance. This package is offered for $650.

Plenty-of-papers Package

This “marking only” package is for candidates who want a large number of papers marked but don’t require extra tutoring (you will still have access to a mentor who can answer some of your questions by e-mail and will review your study plan for you). This package includes professional marking of eight multi-competency simulations and three comprehensive simulations, and is offered for $600.
